HOLLYWOODTRAVELER.COMWRITER’S GUIDELINES
The goal of HollywoodTraveler.com is to provide detailed information about Hollywood, Florida (and the surrounding towns, i.e. Hallandale, Dania Beach) that would interest the traveler in making this area the destination for a vacation or to move to. We intend to achieve this goal with a mixture of compelling short feature articles, reviews, photography, featured blogs and reader contributions. Hollywood, located between two major, well-known tourist destinations, Miami and Fort Lauderdale, offers unique and delightful features that would appeal to many travelers as a destination as well as a convenient, central base to visit the greater area. We provide several different platforms for the writer in you to use. Select the one below that suits you the best and Write On! Reviews: This section is open to all. In it you would write a review of a specific place i.g. for Restaurants you would name the resuarant and tell everyone what was good about it, what you ate, how much did it cost, what else was on the menu and any other pertenant information you like. Blogs: We provide a blog platform for writing about areas of interest in Hollywood. These are open to anyone, after approval, and may be monitored by the Admin to ensure they are relative to Hollywood, Florida and sites that most people would be interested in. Discussion Forum: You can discuss a particular article, start a new discussion or join in on one already in motion.
Articles: We are looking for short, well-written articles that cover a unique or interesting aspect of the Hollywood, FL area. These may include beaches, hotels and resorts, restaurants, theatre and arts, parks and nature centers, sports and athletic activities, local events, night life and entertainment. Accounts including local color, personal experiences and humor are encouraged. It is also important to include as much useful information as possible, such as names, addresses, phone numbers, prices, and websites. Revenue generated from advertising on the article will be shared with the writer.
Photographs: Good photographs are important to accompany articles. If you do not have, or cannot obtain the rights to use, any photos to illustrate your article, let us know and we will provide them. Photographs submitted should be low resolution versions in jpeg format. Please include captions and identification of subjects. We reserve the right to reject any photos and substitute others. If the photos submitted are not your own, be sure you have permission to reprint them. Photos must include the name of the photographer so that credit may be given. In some cases, photos of people, pets or certain locations must have the subjects’ or owners’ permission for publication. Proof of permission may be required. In general you do not need permission to post a photo of someone for a newsworthy event that you are reporting on.

Payment: Payment is made only to those writers that are under contract to our company. Contractors will be paid a percentage of revenue derived from advertisements appearing on the page that their work is placed. The rate of commission shall be determined by a rating system completed by the readers of said work.
Writer’s Qualifications: Although being a published writer is good, we are not necessarily looking for just articles written by them. If you have a knack for writing and want to tell people about your hometown, then write on. |
